From TV to the south and back to Bollywood –it’s been a decade since Madhavan found his acting feet. He’s now in Mumbai shooting for ‘Deal ya no deal’ and has even got an apartment in the Mumbai suburbs so that he has one foot in Chennai and one in Mumbai. The heart throb of millions and new generation South Indian superstar, R Madhavan, has entered into an agreement with IMG, the world's largest sports, leisure and lifestyle management and marketing company. IMG will now represent and target opportunities for all Madhavan’s off-screen commercial activities including endorsements, appearances, speaker representation, and ad films. The golden boy rose to superstardom with a dream debut in the Mani Ratnam film “Alaipayuthe”, which also fetched him a Filmfare Award for the Best Newcomer in 2000. Madhavan is one of the rare South Indian stars who have performed remarkably well in Bollywood too. With a great fan following in the North Indian and overseas markets, Madhavan is hot among youngsters.

A national level basketball player, he represented India as a cultural ambassador to Canada through Rotary International when he was just 19 and then as a junior defense ambassador to England through the NCC three years later. The same year he represented India at the Young Businessman’s Conference in Japan. Awarded the Best Turned Out NCC cadet at the national level for the Republic Day parade in 1991, Madhavan has trained with the Royal Navy, Army and Air Force during his stay in England in 1992. Madhavan has starred in 11 South Indian and two Hindi films and has featured in over 1,800 episodes of serials on television, mostly in Hindi. Apart from the Filmfare Award, he has won numerous accolades such as the Cinema Express award for the best Newcomer, Best Actor award for the film “Run”, Best Supporting Actor award by SICA and the V. Shantaram award for Best Supporting Actor for “Anbe Sivam”. Madhavan is an official brand ambassador for multinational brands Pepsi and Airtel and has modeled in various advertisements for prominent brands like Bajaj, Ponds, Fair and Lovely, and TVS.
