Dil Vil Pyar Vyar
Direction: Anant Mahadevan Producer: Viveck Vaswani Music (rearranged by):Babloo Chakravorty Dil Vil Pyaar Vyaar is a combination of three different stories of three different couples. The stories are of dreams, hope and love. The shades of young love are reflected by an unusual blend of color and music. The film is a musical tribute to the late maestro R.D. Burman. Dil Vil Pyar Vyar has as many as 14 of Panchamda's chart-toppers. Director Anant Mahadevan has gelled the music into the film intricately and skillfully. Inspired by movies like the 'The Bicycle Thief', 'No Man's Land' and 'A Beautiful Mind', Anant has visions of sparking off an imaginative new wave of cinema. All three stories told in this film are love stories. They deal with differing aspects of the same theme. The cohesive factor is music. Madhavan and Namrata are newly weds, a mills and boon couple, heading for a blissful happy ending. However, the turn of events see to it their marriage confronts with complexities. Namrata becomes successful and famous as a singer, while Madhavan, is still struggling to find his place in the world of music. Conflicts arise and they are separated. Jimmy is a rich and qualified boy; he falls in love for the penniless but proud Goan girl, Hrishitaa. She isn't convinced that Jimmy by himself, would amount much. Jimmy has to prove himself, establish his own identity and be financially self-sufficient to win Hrishitaa, his ladylove. Sanjay is the executive of a music company who loses his wife in an accident. He moves to a neighborhood where Sonali lives with her paralytic brother. They are drawn to each other in a gentle romance giving new hope to Sanjay. Rakesh, Sonali's brother proves to be an obstacle in their love life. Sanjay has to find money to cure Sonali's brother, which is the only way they could come together. Dil Vil Pyar Vyar has three happy endings pinned on one hope - a mega singing competition in the climax. Will Madhvan be able to make it as a singer and win his wife back? Will Jimmy prove himself and win not only the competition, but also his lady love? Will Sanjay compete and win over immensely talented competitors? Will Rakesh ever be strong enough to embrace life? ...There is room for only one at the top while all the three pin their hopes on the particular competition. What happens? Who wins? Dil Vil Pyaar Vyaar is a multi-starrer that plays with music and colours sensuously to tell a story. Using the colors to tell a story is a very rare and unique approach. Another unusual feature about this movie is its genre: it is the first retro musical to hit the big screens. The music has been re-arranged by Babloo Chakravorty, who has added his own elements without losing its soul. DVPV is technically slick and keeps up a brisk pace.
