Ishq Hai Tumse
Directed by: G. Krishna Cast: Dino Morea, Bipasha Basu, Alok Nath and Vikram Gokhale Music: Himesh Reshammiya So, what is new about ISHQ HAI TUMSE? Of course noting. It is a love story. Love story witnessed thousands of times in Indian cinema. Period. just doesn't connect with the viewer! The film is all about relationships. It revolves around two friends belonging to two different religions. The families of Alok Nath (Muslim) Vikram Gokhale (Hindu) are very close to each other. The youngest son of the Hindu [Dino Morea] falls in love with the youngest daughter of the Muslim [Bipasha Basu] when they meet for the first in a marriage ceremony. The lovers take time to express their liking towards the other. When Dino makes up his mind to express his love to Bipasha, his father is hospitalized due to kidney failure. Bipasha’s father donates his kidney to Dino's father. Seeing this Dino fears that if he expresses his love for Bipasha, it may lead to the break-up of the deep-rooted friendship between the two friends. So he keeps his love for Bipasha to himself. The lovers meet once again. It is the occasion of Bipasha’s marriage arrangement. The rest of the film deals with how the lovers act and how their families react to the love. Some of the scenes of ISHQ HAI TUMSE remind you of HUM AAPKE HAIN KOUN and DILWALE DULHANIYA LE JAYENGE. Apart from the marriage ceremony, even a few other sequences strongly resemble H.A.H.K. The issue of originality apart, the movie hardly moves in the first half. The same old stuff makes the viewer feel boring. It is the post-interval portions that trigger some interest among the audiences. The script is so weak and it defies rationale. For example the reason behind Dino’s hesitation to express his love looks silly. It lacks any strong reason. The major disappointment of the film is that the romantic sequences between Dino and Bipasha lack fire. The RAAZ magic is not recreated. The poorly penned romantic scenes are not at all appealing. The audience who look for a hot Bipasha (like Jism) is in for a big disappointment. The sizzling Bipasha is shown covered from head to toe. No skin show, no hot scenes! Director G. Krishna lacks a lot as a storyteller. Though the sequences between Alok Nath and Vikram Gokhale are well executed, the scenes that impress are very few. The boring script is the major drawback of the film. Dialogues and cinematography are okay. Himesh Reshammiya’s music is a big boost the film. The tunes are wonderful and the picturisation is outstanding. ‘O Soniya’ stands out mainly because of its peppy orchestration. Dino Morea looks disinterested in many sequences. He is not much expressive. This is a performance, which he and his fans can forget. Bipasha Basu gets into the skin of the character. But since the role does not suit her image, she fails make any impact. The remaining cast excepting Alok Nath and Vikram Gokhale are passable. The two have done justice to their respective roles. On the whole, ISHQ HAI TUMSE fails to impress despite an attractive star cast and pleasing music. The clichéd script is the villain of the film.
